We are so excited to host musicians R.O. Shapiro and Kinsey Lee (The Wild Reeds) in the Collective Chemistry Courtyard!
A world-traveling song-weaver currently dwelling in the Bay Area, R.O. Shapiro’s voice will shock you to your core the first time you hear it. We can’t wait to settle in and let him guide us through a journey of story-centric songs. Kinsey Lee is in the dream team of all female-lead bands, The Wild Reeds, who famously won the Tiny Desk Concert Contest and rocked out for a decade. We are seriously honored to host Kinsey as she breaks into the scene as a solo artist, and to call her a Seattle local these days!
Feel free to bring snacks, bevvies, blankets, crazy creeks, whatever! We will have some chairs, some standing room, etc.
More about R.O. (listen) (website)
R.O. Shapiro is a purveyor of original Americana music, carefully crafted and soulfully sung. Originally from the very east end of Long Island, NY, he spent several years touring and recording with the acoustic trio Odell Fox. When the members of the group went their separate ways in 2017, R.O. settled down in Austin, TX, where he developed a full-band, electrified sound, as heard on his 2021 release King Electric Sessions. A powerful performer of original heartfelt songs, and with a little bit of New York swagger and Texas twang, he’s drawn comparisons to Josh Ritter, Ray LaMontagne, and Nathaniel Rateliff. R.O. is a winner of the 2022 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk songwriting contest, and recently recorded with producer/instrumentalist Phil Cook (Bon Iver, Hiss Golden Messenger.) He is currently based in California’s Bay Area, and regularly tours solo in the Northeast and Pacific Northwest.

Kinsey Lee is a member of the American indie folk band, The Wild Reeds. The Wild Reeds are known for their beautiful harmonies, poignant lyrics, and captivating performances, and Kinsey’s distinct vocals plus songwriting styles are a central part of ‘Reeds' sound. With 10 years of writing, touring, and performing on her resume she has begun to find her voice as a solo artist. Kinsey recently debuted her first solo track "Lover's song" recorded by Duff Thompson and Steph Green of Mashed Potato Records, and is currently working on follow-up album.
